Trump Applauds Gabbard for Exposing Coup Plot
(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump has expressed his admiration for National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard for “exposing” what he calls a coup plot against him orchestrated by the administration of former President Barack Obama.
On Friday, Gabbard released over 100 pages of newly declassified documents, revealing what she characterized as a coordinated effort by senior officials from the Obama era—led by Obama himself—to politicize intelligence.
This effort, according to Gabbard, aimed to falsely accuse Trump of colluding with Russia to secure his victory in the 2016 election.
The resulting operation initiated the lengthy investigation known as ‘Russiagate,’ which Gabbard referred to as “a years-long coup against [Trump].”
On Saturday, in a post on Truth Social, Trump praised Gabbard and her team for their efforts in exposing Obama and his associates, whom he described as “thugs” involved in “unequivocally” carrying out “Election Fraud” at the highest level.
Trump, who has consistently rejected accusations of Russian ties as unfounded, congratulated Gabbard and encouraged her to “keep it coming!!!”
Among Gabbard’s revelations are documents suggesting that Obama personally instructed his officials to disregard earlier intelligence assessments, which had found no evidence linking Russia to Trump’s campaign or election victory.
Instead, officials were directed to replace these findings with new claims that Russia was involved, relying on discredited sources and fabricated data.
These false claims were then reportedly leaked to the media.
